Speaking our

experience into the

next generations

to the Black Elders Medicine Circle. BEMC is a living archive — a place where Black elders speak, in their own words, about their experiences with drugs. Not the edited version. Not what the culture made of it. What they actually lived.

elders speak

Black elders have lived experience with drugs — their choices, their relationships, their truths. Those stories have rarely been heard. That changes here.

BEMC was created to hold space for these voices: unhurried, unedited, and free from the weight of stigma or the pressure to perform a particular story. The elders speak. We listen. What we learn belongs to all of us — across generations, across the diaspora, across time.

conversation

BEMC is a space where elders’ stories live, raw and uncut. But the conversation doesn’t have to end there.

We are considering hosting a free, private BEMC Facebook group where you can join in these discussions. If you might like to participate, please click here to register your interest and we will notify you when the group is live. We want to hear your voice!

* In compliance with Meta policies, the Facebook group will be open to anyone 21 years of age and over.
